A Beginner’s Guide to Quality Management

Goals

• This course presents an in-depth introduction to ISO 9001:2015, emphasizing the underlying principles, framework, and purpose of quality management systems (QMS). They will learn how to set up a QMS in phases—entailing setup, documentation, implementation, and maintenance within an organization. Students will learn through real-world scenarios how ISO 9001:2015 enhances efficiency, minimizes mistakes, and enhances overall quality performance. The training course also discusses the fundamental elements of a QMS, i.e., quality policies, objectives, roles and responsibilities, and resource management. The fundamentals of continuous improvement approaches, e.g., applying the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle and determining opportunity for improvement, are highlighted. Risk-based thinking and process management are also covered with learners so that risks could be addressed and managed and consistent quality results obtained.

Prerequisites

There are no specific prerequisites or prior experience needed to take this course. It is designed for beginners, so you don't need any background in quality management or ISO standards to get started. All you need is:      
Basic Understanding of Business Operations: While not mandatory, having a general knowledge of how businesses operate will help you grasp the concepts more easily. Willingness to Learn: A positive attitude towards learning new systems and improving business processes is essential. Access to a Business or Organization (Optional): For those looking to implement a Quality Management System (QMS), it would be helpful to have access to a business or organization where you can apply the principles in real-time, but this is not required. By the end of the course, even if you're new to ISO 9001:2015, you'll be equipped with the knowledge to confidently apply quality management principles in any organization.
