Course Description
This course talks about the Bauhaus museum and its learnings when I physically visited there. Important principles of Bauhaus design starting from furniture, product, architecture, graphics, typography, spatial design etc has been discussed in detail with pictures and explanations. Bauhaus is one of the very simplistic movements which existed between 1920 to 1933 and what all the learnings I had, has been summarised in this whole course. Students will get a comprehensive understanding of one of the classical design movements of Bauhaus which is very essential and is still inspired by the designers community today also.
Goals
- Students can learn in-depth knowledge of the design documentation process and how to use pictures, videos and detail takes to make a report.
- Students can learn about a very classical design movement which was hundred years old and how it's still been inspired by the contemporary designers, artist architects and painters to this date.
- Also students are able to get a complete understanding of principles of bogus design starting from form follows function, minimalism, showing what materials, making it simple and effective etc has been detailed and explained with pictures.
- Shown varying aspects of graphic design elements of typefaces, architectural elements and buildings, product design with examples including chair design, Ceramic Jar, mug kitchen utensils etc and also many special design elements like art folk and dance are also shown, how much principles has been applied to every thing will be completely understood for the students.
- How designers apply a design to make it more effective and better and simple and robust and make it completely production friendly to launch it in the market.
- Teachings from the Bauhaus Institute have influenced our design education system in India and across the world by things called learning by learning certain basic colour theories, learning to use different materials very primitive am using the workshop understanding about the human anatomy playing with the primitive shapes et cetera has been detailed explained.
