Diagrams, Charts and Graphs.(Theory & Problems)

UNIT II: Measures of Central tendency

Definition, Measures of Central Tendency (Meaning and properties) - Mean, Median, Mode

Deciles, Quartiles, Percentiles. (Simple Problems).

UNIT III: Measures of Dispersion

Range, Quartile Deviation, Mean Deviation, Standard Deviation, Variance, Coefficient of

Variation. (Meaning and Simple Problems)

UNIT IV: Skewness and Kurtosis (SK):

Introduction, Measures of SK, Relative measures of SK – Advantages and Disadvantages.

Moments – concepts –Calculation – Kurtosis.

UNIT V: Correlation and Regression (Linear)

Correlation – Scatter Diagram, Karl Pearson’s Coefficient of Correlation, Spearman’s Rank

Correlation.

Linear Regression – Least Square Approach, Relation between Correlation and Regression.
