Maxim Kozlov
Maxim Kozlov was born in Russia to a Ukrainian father and a Russian mother. His grandfather was a bandmaster of a military band in Lviv, Ukraine.
Since he was young, Maxim has loved the sound of a cello reverberating through a concert hall. As a soloist and with various orchestras, he has played over 700 concerts in the United States, Canada, South America and Europe, as well as South Korea and China. He is also an accomplished recording artist, having made six CD's with Claves Records, the Swiss Classical Label. Some of Maxim's favorite venues to play in include the Alte Oper (Frankfurt, Germany), Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Merkin Concert Hall and Town Hall (New York) and Orange County Performing Arts Center (Costa Mesa, California).
Maxim has a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Moscow State Conservatory and a Graduate Performing Diploma from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University (USA). Maxim is also a prize winner of the Russian National Cello Competition. Most recently, he made three tours to Macau, China and Portugal to perform as the Guest Principal Cellist in the Macao orchestra.
Maxim Kozlov moved to the USA in 2003. He continues to accept solo engagements in addition to maintaining a large studio of students from all over the world.
