Course Description
This will be a basic course that will allow the participants to understand the basic concepts of image processing and their practical applications using MATLAB. Previous experience in the area of image processing is not necessary; hence, it will be pretty ideal for someone getting started with this exciting field.
Students will learn how to manipulate images using simple processes such as resizing and rotating, flipping, brightening or darkening, and changing contrast. Finally, participants will be able to do simple filtering and transformations on images upon completion of the core lessons.
This set of practical exercises will not only solidify knowledge of the core concepts but also equip students with the confidence to solve real-world problems using MATLAB.
The course is strongly practice-oriented, and many exercises are done in coding, each of them developing just one aspect. By the end of this course, participants will have acquired sufficient abilities to deal with further advanced tasks of image processing, thus making the ground ready for future exploration in this fast-growing field.
