Operating System for Semester Exam with Notes and MCQs

Goals

1. Key Concepts Understand key concepts of operating systems including process management, memory management, and file systems. Practical Knowledge Apply key concepts in a working application and improve problem-solving skills in operating system environments. Process Management Understand how to deal with processes and threads concerning scheduling, synchronization, and solution to deadlocks. Memory Management Understand several techniques of memory management: paging, segmentation, and virtual memory.
   File Systems: Conceptual basis for file systems - file system structure, organizations, storage allocation, and access methods.
   Security and Protection: The principles of security and protection mechanisms that ensure safe operations and access to resources while protecting the data in an operating system.
   Critical Thinking: This would be how critical thinking and analytic skills could develop through dialogues for a range of variations in the operating system designs and their trade-offs.
   It will be better prepared for semester exams by lecture notes and multiple choice questions, or MCQs.

Prerequisites

1. Basic Programming Knowledge:
   • Understanding of programming concepts, preferably in languages like C or C++.
2. Computer Science Fundamentals:
   • Familiarity with data structures and algorithms.
