Course Description

Today, as we are more interconnected than ever, the ability to engage productively with conflict, whether it is large or small, is more important today than ever. Work disagreements, cultural misunderstandings, or even disagreements in the digital space are all highly contingent upon how we communicate during conflict. How can we turn disagreements into opportunities for change and collaboration? How can we effectively utilize our words, our emotions, and our ethics to both resolve conflict and strengthen or build relationships? The course, designed and delivered by a team with decades of shared experience in conflict resolution, communication strategy, and emotional intelligence, tackles these questions directly and applies them using practical, effective strategies for a resolution.
This course has been developed by our team utilizing a combination of both lived experience and psychological knowledge and the most current practices to provide you with the tools to communicate effectively in any time of situation. We have participated in high-stake negotiations, mediated cultural misunderstandings, and utilized digital means of communication to resolve conflict. Through this course, we are looking forward to sharing our experiences and knowledge to improve your communication skills, emotional intelligence and negotiation techniques.
Communication is the foundation of all relationships, but it is also the foundation of many conflicts. This course will tackle this dilemma of engaging in a paradox from the foundations of communication when in conflict. We will explore everything from the principles of nonviolent communication to the nuanced way one communicates in a digital space, to give you the tools to convey clearly and listen with empathy, and understanding. Active listening is the essence of effective communication, but it is so much more than the act of just hearing words. We will explore reflective listening, acknowledging the non-verbal signals in conveying communication, and processing emotional triggers. These first few lessons will help you develop the skills to listen and truly hear those you are engaging with, as well as help you facilitate deeper engagement and problem solving.
